The ENERGISE-BD trial (Evaluating Nutritional Ketosis versus NHS EatWell Recommended Guidelines for Bipolar Disorder) is a randomised controlled trial for bipolar depression. It will compare the efficacy of nutritional ketosis approach with the NHS EatWell dietary guidelines.
Main duties of the job
Contribute as a key member of a team of researchers, alongside a Senior Dietitian (Jude Munn), recruiting patients and guiding these patients on the two dietary interventions being tested in this study and other clinical research (70% of time)
Collecting data on participants in the study, specifically relating to progress with delivering both of the nutritional interventions (10%)
Providing day-to-day supervision and support to other members of the ENERGISE-BD team, including a postdoctoral researcher and a clinical research fellow (5% of time).
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to document recruitment progress and present progress reporting data at management group meetings (5%).
Contribute to the presentation of research findings at national and international level conferences (if appropriate) (5% of time)
Maintain clinical skills by participation in continuing professional development (for example on the flexible delivery of nutritional ketosis approaches), as agreed with line manager (5% of time).

All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust’s induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your second week with us.
