Based at HMP Foston Hall, the role involves re-establishing the Enhanced Support Service (ACCESS) and developing a Dynamic Pathway service to reduce the impact of violent and disruptive behaviour in prisons. The services operate with a small but dedicated multi-disciplinary team working in partnership across prison, healthcare, psychology and the Cameo OPD longer term PD treatment service. ACCESS will work to develop individual motivation to improve stability, psychological wellbeing and access to sentence planning services. The Dynamic Pathway provides an intervention option for those who may have completed ACCESS but have insufficient time left on their sentence for longer term interventions.

The postholder will join the SCOH division and supervise day-to-day management of ACCESS and Dynamic Pathway services, handle referrals, undertake clinical assessments and interventions, develop case formulations and support plans in collaboration with other professionals and the wider prison. The division commits to staff development opportunities including training, supervision, mentoring and career development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the ACCESS and Dynamic Pathway services at HMP Foston Hall.
  • Manage referrals, conduct clinical assessments and deliver interventions as required.
  • Develop case formulations and support plans in collaboration with other professionals and the wider prison.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to support service users and align with sentence planning.
  • Demonstrate resilient, independent and collaborative decision-making; maintain empathic and non-judgemental practice.
  • Lead and contribute to service development, including leadership of other professionals and supervision where applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience of working with adults with personality disorder and challenging behaviour.
  • Experience with neurodiversity, complex needs and risks.
  • Strong communication skills, empathetic approach and ability to work in a prison setting.
  • Interest and experience in service development; leadership and supervision experience desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
