About The Role
We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join BSI and play a key role in improving and evolving our DevOps environments and software delivery processes. Reporting to the Technical Lead, you’ll help drive operational excellence, improve CI/CD capabilities, and support the delivery of secure, scalable, high-performing platforms across the business. You may be required to provide out-of-hours or on-call services as required.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage complex technical solutions to support BSI various environments.
- Collaborate and work with our cross-functional teams including security, architects and delivery to deliver the right solutions.
- Contribute to the design, build and operational management of a highly scalable, secure and available PaaS/SaaS platform, ensuring it can operate 24×7.
- Reduce and remove bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the ecosystem. In collaboration with the product teams, work to reduce or eliminate manual or repetitive tasks.
- Champion and embody a mindset of agile delivery and continuous improvement whilst aligning to IT global process and keeping focus on business outcomes.
To Be Successful In The Role You Will Have
- Being an effective key communicator and stakeholder management in large, complex organizations, demonstrating a great ability to listen and navigate competing sets of priorities, business opportunities, and challenges.
- Conveying a level of confidence and professionalism when engaging with stakeholders, influencing positively and persuading others to take a specific course of action when not in a position of authority prioritisation and delegation abilities.
Essential technical skills:
- CI/CD: microservices, infrastructure as code, monitoring/logging, containerisation & automation.
- Operational Management: Synthetic Monitoring tools such as New Relic, Site24x7 or Pingdom.
- Code Management: Azure Repos and/or Enterprise GitHub or Bitbucket.
- Container & API technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Apigee.
- MS ADO, Azure Boards and/or Jira, Confluence.
Desirable technical skills:
- Experience of working with offshore/nearshore service providers.
- Security, Test & Release Automation: Acunetix (or similar), Azure Artifacts & Test Plans and/or Jenkins.
- Azure Enterprise: Cloud, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments.
- Site reliability engineering, familiar with chaos engineering principles.
