Key Responsibilities
- Implement and embed the enterprise data governance framework, ensuring governance standards, policies, and processes are adopted consistently.
- Lead and support the data stewardship operating model, partnering with Data Owners and Stewards to establish clear accountability and governance practices.
- Drive the definition, maintenance, and adoption of business data definitions, taxonomies, standards, and critical data assets across key data domains.
- Manage and continuously improve data quality capabilities, including definition, monitoring, reporting, and remediation of data quality issues and metrics.
- Oversee metadata management, data cataloguing, lineage, and data classification activities to improve data transparency, discoverability and trust.
- Facilitate Data Governance Councils, Stewardship Forums, and governance committees, providing reporting, action tracking, and governance insights to senior stakeholders.
- Partner closely with business, technology, architecture, analytics, security, and compliance teams to embed governance controls into data platforms and business processes.
- Promote a culture of data ownership, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, supporting initiatives that enhance data literacy, governance maturity and enterprise-wide trust in data.
- AI/ML Role – Data Layer & Metadata Management
- Define and maintain data governance standards for the data layer, including quality, metadata, lineage, access and usage.
- Own and prioritise the data governance backlog for AI/Data Layer, assessing risk, regulatory impact and enterprise dependencies.
- Ensure data models, structures and pipelines align with governance policies and approved business definitions.
- Monitor and improve data quality, completeness and consistency across domains and use cases.
- Partner with domain owners, data engineering and product teams to embed governance into delivery processes.
- Provide assurance on compliance with data protection, security and audit requirements.
- Required Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience within a Data Governance, Data Management or related data role.
- Practical experience with data stewardship, metadata management and data quality disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of data policy frameworks.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with confidence to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Databricks.
- Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM or equivalent data management frameworks is a plus.
- AI/ML experience is required for one of the roles.
