Location: UK - Hybrid working, 1 day in London per week

Overview: We are hiring for an Enterprise Architect Analyst to work on a hybrid basis between home and our London office once per week. In this role you will support the Enterprise Architecture function within the IT directorate’s Enterprise Architecture Team. You will help shape the application architecture landscape at BSI, including elements of application portfolio management, architectural artefact production, data analysis, stakeholder communication and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, promote and encourage adoption of enterprise architecture policies, standards, guidelines, strategies and templates.
  • Manage day‑to‑day and continual improvement of the architecture repository, promote adoption and reuse of assets, and build and modify assets as needed.
  • Monitor the external environment to gather intelligence on emerging technologies, products, services, methods and techniques, especially relating to AI and sustainability.
  • Contribute to reports and technology roadmaps that articulate the direction of BSI.
  • Assess and test new products/services for BSI.
  • Maintain databases relevant to our technology landscape.
  • Build knowledge of organisational objectives, issues and opportunities; seek and gain stakeholder involvement and support in the strategic planning process with the wider EA team.
  • Support development of an application strategy, aligned with business needs, existing IT capabilities and future requirements, marrying organisational objectives with achievable IT goals.
  • Contribute to the creation of IT and business strategies, specifying requirements, highlighting best practice and conducting options appraisals to identify business costs, benefits and risks of delivery strategies.
  • Review new applications and services, identifying budgetary, legislative, regulatory, policy, technical and staffing constraints, costs and expected benefits; plan risk assessment and work closely with business relationship management functions and sponsors; and escalates non‑compliant applications.
  • Communicate and promote the enterprise architecture function and artefacts internally, ensuring content meets stakeholder needs; manage demand for new artefacts on backlog; build communication plans and feedback mechanisms.
  • Keep in touch with developments in enterprise architecture practices within BSI, wider industry and relevant professional bodies through news articles, conferences, webinars, etc.
  • Provide or redirect expert advice, reactively and pro‑actively, to those engaged where enterprise architecture is applicable within IT.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within architecture.
  • Knowledge of platform‑based architecture, data modelling, MDM, data governance, integration patterns, API architecture.
  • Experience supporting systems of record and maintaining accurate records.
  • Aligning an organisation's technology strategy with its business mission, strategy and processes using architectural models and roadmaps.
  • Experience identifying and assessing emerging technologies, products or services and integrating them into an organisation.
  • Experience analysing and proactively managing business demand for new or changed services.
  • Ability to work independently using initiative to manage tasks effectively.
  • Experience creating meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, internal clients and vendors.
