This role is a key part of the Group Tax team, supporting the Head of Direct Tax in delivering the Group Tax function’s objectives, with a particular focus on tax reporting and corporate tax compliance. The position provides support across a range of taxes, including corporate tax, VAT/GST and employment taxes, helping to ensure effective management of the Group’s tax affairs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in developing and implementing policies and processes that support the Group Tax strategy and effective management of the Group’s tax affairs.
  • Preparing UK corporate tax returns and year-end tax reporting packs in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking financial analysis and supporting production of tax-related financial statement disclosures, including ETR reporting.
  • Preparing UK quarterly corporate tax instalment calculations and contributing to Group tax cash flow forecasting.
  • Supporting compliance with tax regulations through tax filings, payments, and documentation requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Supporting the Head of Direct Tax with Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) processes, tax audits, and enquiries, including preparation of supporting documentation, schedules, and analysis.
  • Monitoring developments in tax legislation, communicating relevant changes to management and stakeholders.
  • Providing support to the Group Transfer Pricing Manager as required.
  • Supporting tax accounting and reporting activities undertaken by the Shared Service Centre (SSC), contributing to tax documentation, process and control improvements, and building effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisers.

To be successful in the role:

  • Qualified Chartered Tax Adviser with experience in tax roles within a corporate, multinational environment or accounting firm, including corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, financial reporting, statutory accounts, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in financial data analysis, reconciliations, statistical interpretation, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of international tax, VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and tax reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in SAP, EPM systems, tax/reporting tools, and advanced MS Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with experience in project management, influencing, collaboration, change management, coaching, resilience, and working effectively across teams and with external advisers.
