We are looking for a Product Certification Auditor to play a key role in maintaining product excellence across our certification schemes. In this role you will conduct product certification assessments across varied environments, ensuring compliance with BSI’s rigorous certification schemes and Kitemark standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare assessment reports and deliver findings to clients to ensure understanding of the assessment decision and clear direction for corrective action.
- Recommend issue, re‑issue or withdrawal of certificates and report recommendations in accordance with BSI policy and prescribed time frames.
- Maintain overall account responsibility, ensuring effective partnership, excellent service delivery and account growth.
- Lead assessment teams, briefing members to maintain service quality and foster strong client and team relationships.
- Provide accurate and prompt information to support services, keeping client records up to date.
- Coach colleagues, especially those inexperienced with audit practices, and assist in the induction and coaching of new staff.
- Plan and schedule workloads to maximize revenue‑earning activity.
- Complete the onboarding plan to achieve Lead Assessor status through the prescribed program.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in preparing for and taking standardized assessments on audit practices.
- Manage a portfolio of assigned clients, contacting them, scheduling visits, planning assessments, managing travel plans, conducting assessments, and reporting results efficiently.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years’ industry experience in a product manufacturing environment with emphasis on quality management or product certification.
- Ideally qualified in an engineering or manufacturing related subject.
- Previous experience in product assessment or auditing against standards.
- Frequent travel across the UK and occasional travel within Europe.
- Knowledge of quality management system auditing practices (ISO 9001).
- Lead Auditor 9001 qualification is a major advantage.
