At BSI, we are looking for a Product Certification Auditor to play a key role in maintaining product excellence. You will conduct product certification assessments across varied environments, ensuring compliance with BSI’s certification schemes and Kitemark standards.
We seek professionals to deliver product assessment audits across sectors such as construction, electrical lighting, consumer electronics, gas products, personal protective equipment, fire safety equipment, and fenestration manufacturing.
Experience in auditing schemes like UKCA, CE Marking, Kitemark, IECEE CB is highly beneficial. Previous auditing experience and expertise in ISO 9001 quality management systems are advantageous. A 9001 Lead Auditor certification is a plus.
* This role is field-based, requiring extensive travel and potential overnight stays across the UK.
* Suitable locations include London, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Essex, Kent.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepare assessment reports, deliver findings, and guide clients on corrective actions.
- Recommend issuance, re-issuance, or withdrawal of certificates per BSI policies.
- Maintain account responsibility, ensuring excellent service and account growth.
- Lead assessment teams, ensuring quality and effective client and team relationships.
- Provide accurate information to support services and ensure client records are up to date.
- Coach and mentor colleagues, especially new assessors.
- Plan workloads to optimize time and revenue.
- Attend training and follow BSI procedures for client and internal management.
- Complete onboarding to achieve Lead Assessor status.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in audit practices.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, schedule assessments, and report results efficiently.
- Monitor client accounts to ensure satisfaction.
- Lead teams and mentor colleagues as needed.
- Perform other duties to meet assessment delivery goals.
Education/Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of industry experience in product manufacturing, quality management, or product certification.
- Qualifications in a manufacturing, built environment, or construction-related field.
- Experience in product assessment or auditing against standards.
- Willingness to travel frequently across the UK.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system auditing practices.
