We are seeking an Ecologist with 1.5+ years full‑time experience in nature conservation or ecological consultancy, with a particular emphasis on ornithology, to join our Newcastle team. You will work on projects such as wader and farmland bird studies and receive mentoring and a comprehensive internal training programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ecological assessments, collect and analyse data, support project delivery and client liaison across diverse sectors including heritage, renewable energy, residential, leisure and mineral projects.
Qualifications
- 1.5+ years full‑time experience in ecological consultancy or nature conservation
- Broad ecological skill‑set and, ideally, relevant protected species licences
- Working knowledge of current wildlife policy and legislation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Some project management and client liaison experience
- Enthusiasm for the environment and desire to promote high professional standards
- Organised, flexible and highly motivated approach to work
- Good BSc and/or MSc in a relevant subject
- Full driving licence and access to own transport
