Role Overview
The Security Operations Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies to protect our people, assets, and operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, particularly as we navigate the complexities of the CBPM sector. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive security mindset, staying abreast of emerging threats and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and oversee the implementation of a robust security framework encompassing physical, digital, and personnel security.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all security measures comply with MHRA guidelines, Home Office regulations, and other relevant legislation, especially concerning controlled substances.
- Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
- Policy Development: Establish and maintain security policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and effectively communicated across the organization.
- Training & Awareness: Lead security training programs to foster a culture of security awareness among employees.
- Incident Response: Develop and manage incident response plans, ensuring swift and effective action in the event of security breaches or emergencies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal departments, law enforcement, and regulatory bodies to ensure cohesive security operations.
- Technology Oversight: Evaluate and implement security technologies, including surveillance systems, access controls, and cybersecurity tools.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on security status, incidents, and improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Information Security, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP) are advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior security role, preferably within the pharmaceutical or regulated industries. Experience with CBPM or controlled substances is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of UK security regulations, MHRA guidelines, and Home Office requirements related to controlled substances.
- Skills: Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency in security technologies and risk assessment methodologies.
Working Conditions
