As a Transport Supervisor you will ensure the day-to-day leadership of drivers at your depot, ensuring a safe and compliant environment delivering pharmaceutical products to the customers in a professional manner, on time in full to fulfil the delivery time requirements at the agreed cost. Ensure that GDP compliance is adhered to at all times.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure that GDP compliance is adhered to at all times.
- Ensuring delivery performance on a daily basis according to your KPIs.
- Leading a Health and Safety culture within despatch; sets site safety best practices by demonstrating zero tolerance behaviour, continually challenging and raising Safety standards.
- Ensure drivers adhere to vehicle compliance standards.
- Investigate any issue reported by drivers.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Ensure all team members adhere to SOPs and comply with their individual responsibilities for GDP, to ensure there are no deficiencies.
- Manage and motivate the transport team to deliver on time in full.
- Recommend improvements to the transport process and SOPs to increase process efficiency and effectiveness.
- Embrace continuous improvement activities.
- Effectively manage the use of all transport resources (Vehicles, labour).
- Manage teams to minimise delays with delivery of consignments.
- Manage Vehicle reliability through effective and timely turnarounds vehicle maintenance Schedule.
- Reporting any vehicle damage/vehicle accidents to the Transport manager.
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy at all times.
- Ensure ambient and cold chain chambers of the vehicles are checked to be within the correct temperature range by the drivers prior to loading.
- Ensure consignments are validated by the drivers prior to departing from the depot.
- Any missing parcels or errors during the delivery must be reported to the Transport Manager or authorised person immediately.
- Ensure all deliveries are supported by a POD.
- Ensure drivers maintain vehicles clean and tidy at all times.
- All SOPs and WIs must be adhered to at all times.
Essentials Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Full UK Driving license.
- Pallet stacker or counterbalance fork truck experience.
- Operational experience in a Transport/Dispatch environment.
- Supervision/management experience ideal.
- Proactive.
- Organised.
- Flexible.
