As a Night Despatch Lead Hand, you will work in conjunction with the Transport Supervisor to directly supervise and coordinate the activities of the despatch team. Ensure that GDP compliance is adhered to at all times.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure that GDP compliance is adhered to at all times.
- Ensuring delivery performance on a daily basis according to your KPIs.
- Perform daily despatching and related activities; oversee the sortation team and coordinate loading of pallets onto the designated vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle tracking system to ensure vehicles are on route and the load compartment is within the authorised temperature range.
- Monitor operator adherence for show and reporting times.
- Perform job duties in accordance with existing health and safety procedures and policies.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Maintain all despatch records, including daily time records and prepare reports.
- Monitor and manage on-time performance of the driver team by route.
- Provide direct road supervision; monitor operator adherence to schedules and operating procedures.
- Respond and assist operators when accidents occur, perform accident investigation techniques, provide assistance with passenger problems and respond to road calls/breakdowns.
- Schedule as required to cover for late or absent Operators.
- Assist in the safety and security of the operations and ensure pharmaceutical products are being transported as per temperature rules.
- Prepare, compile and submit timely reports on work activities, operations, production or work-related accidents/incidents.
- Ensure ambient and cold chain chambers of the vehicles are checked to be within the correct temperature range by the drivers prior to loading.
- Ensure consignments are validated by the drivers prior to departing from the depot.
- Ensure all paperwork is sent with each hub consignment.
- Ensure drivers maintain vehicles clean and tidy at all times.
- All SOPs and WIs must be adhered to at all times.
Essentials Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Full UK Driving license.
- Operational experience in a Transport / Dispatch environment.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to learn proprietary software/hardware as necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
- Proactive, organised, and flexible.
