Our client is one of the largest privately owned property companies in the UK and is currently looking to add a Payroll Assistant to their team, based at their Wilmslow head office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their payroll skills within a supportive, friendly environment. You will work closely with the Payroll Supervisor and Payroll Officer, assisting with the delivery of three weekly payrolls and one monthly payroll, with clear progression opportunities over time into a Payroll Officer role.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing holiday requests
- Inputting and managing sickness absence
- Producing monthly reports, including employee movements, starters and leavers
- Inputting new starters and leavers onto the payroll system
- Timesheet input for both weekly and monthly payrolls
- Reconciliation of weekly and monthly payrolls
- Assisting with the annual salary review process
- Processing sickness and statutory payments
- Wage reconciliations for the Accounts department
- Processing commissions, bonuses, overtime, and expenses
- Maintaining payroll documentation and records
- Keeping Standard Operating Procedures up to date
- Distributing payslips
- Assisting the Fleet Manager with administration tasks
The person:
- Minimum of 2 years’ payroll experience
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and confidentiality requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A positive, team-focused approach
- Experience using I-Trent is desirable but not essential
- Due to the location, access to your own transport is essential
