The Firm: A large accountancy firm with an established brand across the north east of England who work with the SME market are seeking to appoint a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager. You will join their successfully growing team, one that is outgoing, social and ambitious. Based in Newcastle city centre offering a nice mix of hybrid working, this is an opportunity with plenty of scope to progress, well suited to an individual focused on career progression.

The Role: As Assistant Manager you will be tasked with supporting the Tax Manager with managing the compliance and tax advice process for a client allocation. This will entail supervision of tax members, assisting with client work and dealing with technical and administrative issues. You will be allocated a portfolio of more complex clients to prepare tax returns for alongside the review of others returns. Dealing with HMRC enquiries and drafting correspondence, preparing reports for clients, monitoring deadlines and budgets, and sharing your knowledge with team members will be part of your daily routine. There will be opportunities to assist Partners with their prospective fee quotes as you support business growth.

Experience Required: To join the team as Assistant Tax Manager you will be ATT qualified as a minimum with a secure knowledge of private client and partnership tax compliance, with some planning exposure. With good communication skills you will be confident drafting various correspondence to clients and HMRC, able to articulate on any technical issues, explaining tax matters in an understandable manner. As you look to further your career your ability to foster long-term relationships will be important so good inter-personal skills are essential.
