THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Director – Electrical Engineering to join our expanding data centre team in London. We are looking for a professional with diverse data centre design experience to contribute to our dynamic, international global strategy and design consultancy. As we continue to experience rapid growth, particularly in the data centre sector, we are excited to invite a passionate individual to help us shape large-scale, multidisciplinary data centre projects. These projects are driven by the core values of integration, optimisation, and standardisation. As part of our team, you will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and clients to develop innovative and complex designs. Your experience and expertise will play a pivotal role in driving project success through direct client engagement, fostering collaboration, and delivering efficient, high-quality solutions.
THE ROLE
You will be the electrical lead for key parts of our data centre project portfolio, working closely with all the other discipline leadership and other design disciplines including Architecture, Structures, Civils and Sustainability and clients to deliver innovative designs.
- Be a recognised leader in data centre electrical design ideally across multiple international locations.
- Have a track record in running electrical design teams.
- Have a track record in delivering projects at all project stages.
- Have extensive experience of working with data centre sector clients.
- Have operated as an electrical lead and be able to demonstrate previous experience of ensuring technical excellence, productivity and oversight of engineers and technicians, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and ensuring team cohesion toward project goals.
- Be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the data centre sector and market trends.
- Be able to contribute to Board reporting and business development strategies.
- Manage project coordination, QA/QC procedures, and risk management.
- Mentor and inspire our engineers across all levels.
- Effectively communicate across all business levels.
WHAT WE NEED
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and Chartered.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with previous experience of delivering Data Centre projects from a design perspective.
- Deep knowledge of data centre typologies including current and emerging technologies.
- Someone who can assist with strategic team growth and contribute to wider business development strategies.
- Well organised/disciplined.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach.
