At Bryden Wood, we are expanding our London team to support the delivery of some of the world's most complex and ambitious projects for leading technology, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing and industrial clients. We are seeking talented Architects to join our growing team and play a key role in the design and delivery of Data Centres, Life Sciences, Process and other large-scale technical facilities across the UK, Europe and beyond. This is a unique opportunity to work on the most complex and technically demanding facilities being delivered today, while helping clients accelerate their sustainability and decarbonisation ambitions.

As part of our London studio, you will be fully integrated into our international Architectural team and work closely with colleagues across our UK headquarters and global project teams. You will collaborate with experts in Architecture, Structures, Civils, MEP, Sustainability, Digital Design, and Project Management to develop innovative, coordinated, and efficient design solutions from concept through to delivery. The role offers exposure to all stages of the design process, with a particular focus on technical design development, multidisciplinary coordination, BIM-led delivery, permitting, and the production of high-quality construction documentation. You will contribute to projects that demand technical excellence, rigorous coordination, and a forward-thinking approach to design and delivery.

Joining Bryden Wood means becoming part of a practice that is redefining how buildings are designed and delivered through design excellence, digital innovation, modern methods of construction, and industrialised design principles. Our teams work at the forefront of the industry, helping clients solve some of their biggest challenges while delivering projects that are smarter, more sustainable, and more efficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Become a fully integrated member of our Architectural team in London, while contributing to major international projects in collaboration with colleagues across the UK, Europe and beyond.
  • Support and coordinate the architectural design of highly technical facilities including Data Centres, Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing and Process Plants, ensuring seamless integration between architectural, engineering and process design requirements.
  • Support and drive Architectural design development from concept through to detailed design (RIBA Stages 2–6, or equivalent local design stages), transforming design intent into coordinated technical solutions and tender documentation, and construction stage support.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant local building regulations, codes, and international standards, adapting technical approaches to suit project-specific jurisdictions.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of permit and statutory approval documentation for submission to local authorities and professional bodies across multiple international locations.
  • Develop spatial coordination strategies, technical detailing, and material specifications under the guidance of Senior Architects, Associates and Project Leads.
  • Produce comprehensive architectural documentation, including detailed floor plans, elevations, sections and technical details, ensuring effective integration with structural and MEP infrastructure.
  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams, actively participating in design reviews, coordination workshops, and clash detection/resolution processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Master's Degree in Architecture (or an equivalent 5-year professional qualification).
  • Professional registration: Registration with a recognised architectural body (ARB, or international equivalent) is required.
  • Technical Design Expertise: Strong experience in architectural technical design development and coordination, particularly across RIBA Stages 3 and 4 (or equivalent local design stages), with the ability to develop complex projects from design intent through to detailed technical delivery.
  • International Code Knowledge: Proven ability to interpret, research, and apply a broad range of local building regulations, planning requirements, and international design standards across different project jurisdictions.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years' post-qualification experience within architecture, with a strong track record of producing and coordinating detailed technical design and construction documentation.
  • Permitting & Approvals: Demonstrable experience supporting the preparation, coordination, and submission of statutory approvals, permit applications, and technical documentation to local authorities and professional bodies across multiple territories.
  • Project Experience: Experience delivering large-scale industrial, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, logistics, or other technically complex commercial projects. Previous Data Centre experience is advantageous but not essential, we will provide sector-specific training and support. Candidates with experience in process-led environments and multidisciplinary coordination will be particularly valued.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to confidently collaborate within international, multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Digital Delivery: Advanced proficiency in Revit for BIM authoring, detailed modelling, and technical documentation, alongside strong experience using Navisworks for multidisciplinary coordination, spatial analysis, and clash detection. Rhino and Grasshopper will be beneficial should you be interested in working on industrial and process engineering oriented projects.
  • Collaboration: A proactive and team-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment alongside Architecture, Structures, Civils, MEP, Sustainability, and Project Management teams.
  • Problem Solving: Strong technical and analytical skills, with a passion for delivering coordinated, high-quality design solutions on complex and challenging projects.
