We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of English to lead this key department. We are seeking a candidate with high standards, excellent communication skills, leadership potential and a record of high-quality teaching across the secondary age range. We expect our Heads of Department to champion their subject and to encourage intellectual curiosity and active learning.

Bryanston is a leading co-educational full-boarding school set in a beautiful 400-acre campus, surrounded by Dorset countryside, and provides an outstanding education for 780 pupils aged 3-18. We pride ourselves on being a happy, creative, and forward-thinking place to learn with the freedom to explore. This position offers a fine opportunity to a charismatic and ambitious teacher and would be ideal for someone looking for their first or second HoD appointment. The person appointed will also have the opportunity to contribute to the pastoral, boarding and co-curricular life of the School.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
