Senior Executive, Marketing and Business Development

It starts with our people, which is why we need a Senior Marketing and Business Development Executive to join our team in London.

You will be an integral part of a busy, well‑respected business development team within a firm that values innovative thinking and fresh ideas.

The role involves day‑to‑day ownership of delivering BD products for several practice areas within Real Estate, with the scope to develop and make the role your own.

You’ll also contribute to and work closely with a Firmwide project team and collaborate with a wider Marketing and Business Development group that includes specialists from PR, design, media, and big‑four accountancy backgrounds.

The team benefits from buy‑in across the business, including senior management, who have a clear understanding of how our work drives the firm’s overall success.

This role will involve working closely with Real Estate Marketing and BD team in London and the US, and all other Marketing and Business Development teams globally, as well as with Real Estate Lawyers, Knowledge Development Lawyers and Legal Practice Assistants.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Marketing and Business Development
  • Contribute to and implement marketing and business development plans for key Real Estate teams, including Planning & Zoning, Corporate Real Estate & Funds and Commercial Real Estate, as well as priority sectors Logistics & Industrial and BTR/Multifamily.
  • Work with partners and Knowledge Development Lawyers across the team to identify issues and opportunities for us to develop new business or cross‑sell.
  • Support on the delivery of projects, or run and own projects, for other practices or Real Estate generally.
  • Work within agreed budgets and guidelines.
  • Pitching
  • Develop pitches, capability statements and presentation materials (either leading or supporting depending on pitch requirements).
  • Collaborate with the global Proposal Team on responses to firmwide pitches (e. g. panel, RFPs).
  • Provide Real Estate content to non‑Real Estate led pitches.
  • Campaigns
  • Play a role on Real Estate led campaigns as required.
  • Events
  • In conjunction with the marketing events team, manage internal and external event coordination and execution for practice‑hosted webinars, conferences, seminars and receptions, as well as local functions for other practices and office functions, as necessary.
  • Own the BD targeting and proactively work with lawyers on it, including the follow‑up/ROI.
  • Competitive Intelligence
  • Collaborate with the Research Intelligence Team and other firm resources to facilitate competitive intelligence and marketing research reports.
  • Marketing Materials
  • Work with the Creative Services Team on the creation of and maintenance of practice marketing materials, including infographics.
  • Assist with the development and distribution of major reports and publications.
  • Directory and Award submissions
  • Working with our external consultant and other BCLP stakeholders, play a role in managing the group’s participation in relevant legal directories (e. g., Chambers, Legal 500).
  • Write award submissions as required.
  • Dynamics (CRM) and Client Communications
  • Responsible for Dynamics (database) awareness initiatives across Real Estate.
  • Send out client communications through Dynamics using Vuture software.
  • External Communications
  • Working with our PR team on the coverage of successful matters and initiatives, including coordinating social media posts.
  • Internal Communications
  • Proactively drive internal communications for allocated practice areas.
  • Support internal communications initiatives as required.
  • Matter collection
  • Work with relevant teams to ensure all matter information is proactively used, e. g. for website updates, internal comms.

Skills and experience required

  • Relevant experience in marketing, business development, or a related field. A degree or professional qualification (e. g. CIM) is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience within a professional services environment; a legal background is desirable.
  • Solid marketing and business development experience.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Highly enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
  • Self‑motivated and proactive – a self‑starter.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities/projects.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
