What you’ll be doing
You’ll act as a trusted fire safety expert across the organisation, delivering practical and strategic support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting and reviewing fire risk assessments across complex buildings
- Leading audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
- Supporting emergency planning and fire drills
- Advising on events, refurbishments, and major construction projects
- Investigating fire incidents and alarm activations
- Liaising with Fire & Rescue Services, building control, and contractors
- Delivering tailored fire safety training to staff across the university
What we’re looking for
- NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in operational fire safety management and FRA delivery
- Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and PAS 79
- Experience with passive and active fire protection systems
- A confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
- A proactive mindset with a passion for driving high safety standards
