Construction Health & Safety Consultant

Location: Swansea
Salary: Circa £65,000 + Benefits
Working Pattern: Site-based (up to 10‑hour days)
Employment Type: Fixed‑Term Contract (52 Weeks)

Bryan & Armstrong is supporting a leading international consultancy with the recruitment of an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to join a major logistics and distribution project based in Swansea. This is an excellent opportunity to work on behalf of a global organisation, supporting the safe delivery of a large‑scale construction and logistics programme. The successful candidate will become part of an established Health & Safety team, providing practical advice, guidance and assurance to project teams and contractors operating within a fast‑paced environment. The role is predominantly site‑based, with an expected start date towards the end of July 2026. Some weekend working may be required during key project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive Health & Safety advice and support to site management and project teams.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits and workplace safety tours.
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and provide practical recommendations.
  • Undertake suitable and sufficient risk assessments where required.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Monitor site compliance with company procedures and statutory legislation.
  • Produce daily and weekly Health & Safety reports and performance metrics.
  • Attend and chair Health & Safety meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Investigate hazards and recommend practical control measures.
  • Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across the project.

Essential Requirements

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • SMSTS.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor or Health & Safety Consultant.
  • Experience working on behalf of a Principal Contractor or within major construction projects.
  • Good understanding of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently whilst supporting a wider project team.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within logistics, warehousing or industrial construction projects.
  • Experience using bespoke Health & Safety reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of ergonomics and workplace risk reduction.
  • Experience working within fast‑paced operational environments.
