We are pleased to be working exclusively with a market‑leading fresh produce business supplying major grocery retailers throughout the UK. Our client now has an opportunity for a Group Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join their team, setting the strategic direction for health, safety and environmental performance across their UK operations.
This is a high‑impact leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer (UK & Ireland). You will own the entire HSE function, lead a small team of safety professionals, and drive a proactive, best‑in‑class safety culture in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment.
Key responsibilities- Develop and deliver a regional HSE strategy that measurably improves safety performance, compliance, and culture
- Provide expert guidance to the senior leadership team and operational managers on all HSE matters
- Lead, coach and develop the Health & Safety Advisor and wider site‑based safety representatives
- Oversee risk assessments, audits, incident investigations and corrective action plans across all sites
- Ensure full compliance with UK (and where relevant EU) health, safety and environmental legislation
- Design and implement engaging training programmes and safety awareness initiatives
- Produce insightful HSE reports and KPI dashboards for the Board and senior leadership
- Partner with HR and operational teams to deliver effective health & wellbeing programmes
- Continuously benchmark and introduce industry best practice
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification)
- Significant senior HSE leadership experience in a multi‑site operation
- Proven track record of transforming safety culture and delivering measurable improvements
- Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and enforcement expectations
- Experience leading and developing a small team of safety professionals
- First‑class communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills able to engage everyone from shop floor to Board level
- Highly analytical with the ability to translate data into actionable insight
- Hands‑on experience of incident investigation, risk assessment and audit processes
- Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards
- Experience within fresh produce, food manufacturing, FMCG or similar fast‑paced environments
- Additional qualifications in environmental management
- Experience managing HSE across both UK and international locations

The notice period is 1 week during probation, rising to 1 month thereafter and is paid on a monthly, salaried basis. Salary offered will be dependent on experience. You will be based at their main site in Huntingdon.
