Overview

The purpose of this role is to undertake Compensation and Compulsory Purchase work, particularly delivering contract work for Transport and Utility clients. This includes Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects and other major or minor gas, water, electricity, road (both national and local authority), and rail projects, ensuring appropriate fee income for the business.

The role involves organizing project surveyors and referencers to ensure the successful delivery of projects across transportation and utility sectors.

Develop new and existing sector client contacts, collaborating with team colleagues and regional BK offices.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of high-quality service.
  • Manage team’s time utilization to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Achieve agreed budgets and targets.
  • Maintain high client standards while ensuring job profitability.
  • Negotiate compensation according to client instructions.
  • Procure new work instructions where possible.
  • Assist in delivering budgets and manage personal performance, exceeding core technical skills.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
  • Support other offices as needed.
  • Provide CPO and compensation advice within BK.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of our market sector and be at a senior level or seeking progression to this level.

Qualifications:

Degree-level qualification accredited by RICS, with membership as a qualified RICS member.

  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and methodical.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Team player with professional interaction skills.
  • Adaptable to new skills and working methods.
  • Responsible, able to work independently within defined parameters.
