About The Role
- Stand-in for Lead Technician/ Chargehand when they are not on site.
- Mentor apprentices and new starters to the department.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform repairs on a wide range of equipment, including Vacuum plants, Oil processing equipment, FLTs, Compressed air systems, Lighting and production machinery.
- Conduct emergency repairs to minimise production downtime.
- Execute routine maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance of equipment and legal compliance.
- Inspect equipment and systems regularly for signs of wear or malfunction.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and logs using Idhammar database.
- Install new equipment and systems according to technical manuals and safety guidelines.
- Assist with upgrading or retrofitting existing equipment to improve performance or meet new operational needs.
- Provide technical assistance and training to operators and other staff.
- Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to optimise equipment performance
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
- Perform risk assessments and ensure the safe operation of equipment during maintenance.
- Report and address potential safety hazards using companies SIO reporting system.

Qualifications:
- Mechanical apprenticeship
- NVQ3, ONC or City & Guilds qualification
- Proven track record in a similar role
- HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering

- Able to work with company’s rules and guidance notes on health and safety, including operation of safe systems of work in relation to high voltage and medium voltage electrical systems and work in a heavy industrial environment.
