About the Role

Senior Quality Manager is responsible for leading and driving operational quality performance across all transformer manufacturing sites.

The role ensures products are manufactured in accordance with customer specifications, statutory requirements, industry standards, and business management system requirements.

The Senior Quality Manager will establish a culture of quality excellence throughout manufacturing operations, reducing defects, improving right-first-time performance, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

The role acts as the operational quality leader within manufacturing, working closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Projects and Customer teams to deliver high-quality transformer products safely, efficiently and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage operational quality activities across all manufacturing sites.
  • Develop and implement the operational quality strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish a culture of quality ownership throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with approved manufacturing procedures, inspection and test plans and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and improve product conformity throughout all stages of manufacture.
  • Drive effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure robust root cause analysis methodologies are applied including:
  • Ishikawa
  • Fault Tree Analysis
  • Provide leadership on the investigation and resolution of non-conformances.
  • Lead, coach and develop site quality teams.
  • Conduct performance reviews and development planning.
  • Develop quality performance dashboards and reporting systems.
  • Monitor and report key operational quality metrics.

What we're looking for

  • A degree background in Business, Quality, Science, or an Engineering related discipline or HNC with relevant industry experience.
  • CQI Membership.
  • Chartered Quality Professional status (Desirable).
  • Experience and understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Multi site manufacturing quality management experience.
  • Experience leading quality teams within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

• Strong experience of

  • ISO 9001 implementation.
  • Root cause analysis.
  • Continuous improvement.
  • Quality management systems.
  • Customer quality management.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • IT skills.
