Whatβs the role?
Part of the BRUSH Group, Eta Projects is a leading MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health) engineering design consultancy, delivering innovative solutions across complex building environments. We are seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to lead the development and implementation of compliant strategies within our projects. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects while shaping the next generation of engineering talent.
The successful candidate will:
- Contribute to the preparation and presentation of technical evidence, calculations, and design support for healthcare specific building services systems.
- Collaborate effectively with senior Eta Projects design team members.
- Work closely with internal disciplines including mechanical, electrical, public health, and sustainability.
- Mentor and guide junior/apprentice engineers within the design teams.
Working Conditions β Hybrid working (typical 3 days office, 2 days at home), 37.5 contractual hours per week Monday - Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of electrical systems, including design calculations, specifications & schedules and technical drawings.
- Initial technical review of electrical system designs and specifications, completed by junior team members.
- Assist in undertaking site surveys.
- Support senior team members on coordination with external design teams; architectural, structural, PQS, CDM, etc and internal team; CAD, Revit, electrical, public health, sustainability disciplines.
What Weβre Looking For
- Candidate is working towards HNC/Degree qualification OR has proven experience working within Electrical Building Services.
- A desire to work towards professional engineering registration.
- A desire to work towards professional membership of relevant institute preferred (CIBSE, IET, IHEEM).
- Experienced in Electrical Engineering services systems designs across a range of building types.
- Healthcare buildings experience preferred but not essential.
- Demonstratable experience of design in building services.
- Design team relationship building skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office; Excel, MS Project etc.
- Experience with calculation software; Trimble, Etap, Dialux or equivalents.
- Knowledge of British standards, building regulations documents, CDM regulations.
- Knowledge of HTMs would also be of benefit but not essential.
The successful candidate should also possess excellent communication skills to confidently contribute towards design team meetings as well as build and sustain strong relationships with senior team.
