What’s the role?

Reporting to the Test Manager, the main purpose of the role is to functionally test and inspect a range of Switchgear products using a range of both medium and high voltage test equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Test Manager.
  • Ensuring that all products are correctly tested to the applicable standard/specification as per test schedules.
  • Operating medium and high voltage test equipment working safely at all times.
  • Can fault find electrical components using a schematic.
  • Carry out mechanical assembly and tightness testing etc.
  • Carry out High Voltage AC and DC pressure testing.
  • Perform Primary & Secondary Injection.

  • HNC or Degree in an Electrical discipline desirable.
  • Commercial/domestic electrical experience.
  • Experience of Protection relays (MiCOM, Argus, SIPROTEC etc).
