The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.
You will work with the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Manager to promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the Business, keeping employees safe, preventing harm and ill health. This role will develop to allow the successful candidate to understand and learn the SHE standards within the business in accordance with current legislation and company policies and procedures. Ensure the business, Managers and employees comply with all SHE legislation and that SHE policies and practices are adhered to.
You will work with the SHE Manager to facilitate the day-to-day operations of SHE whilst learning how to contribute to the planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing of protective and preventative safety measures through working with Managers, employees, site operatives and the safety representatives.
Key Responsibilities- Reports directly to the local SHE Manager.
- Working closely with the factory operations Management team.
- Learn from the SHE team so you can provide specialist advice for all matters relating to the statutory requirements concerning SHE factors to Managers, employees and safety representatives.
- Work with the team to assist with writing safety risk assessment types including, COSHH, Manual Handling and work equipment assessments.
- Supporting compliance with the implementation and maintenance of procedures to meet the requirements of ISO14001 and ISO45001.
- Support the SHE Manager with statistics and reports in relation to SHE.
- Compliance with the quality system, including issuing and tracking corrective action requests following internal and external SHE audits and the tracking and progressing to close actions.
- Promoting a positive SHE culture and continuous improvement within the Company and developing SHE policies and procedures to support the business.
- Support Managers and Supervisors in the maintenance and development of risk assessments to ensure they are suitable and sufficient and up to date, eliminating and reducing risk to as low as reasonably practicable.
- Assisting with the assessment of training requirements and provision of training for site employees regarding SHE including toolbox talks.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations, providing reports and identifying root causes and implementing action plans to prevent re-occurrence.
- Sharing lessons learnt from accidents, dangerous occurrences and significant near misses with other group businesses.
- Assist with the collecting data for the populating of key performance indicators and ensuring targets are met, immediately escalating any concerns.
- Support the business in its approach to Net Zero and communicating and maintaining compliance to the Sustainability Policy whilst supporting the companies’ approach to ESG.
- Must be competent with written and verbal English.
- Willingness to be trained, to include - NEBOSH/IOSH/IEMA or CIEH.
- Having an understanding of current SHE laws and legislation would be an advantage.
- Experience of working with a SHE management system would be an advantage.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to managing SHE and willingness to learn.
