The Procurement Manager role forms part of the wider Switchgear Procurement structure and will report directly to the Switchgear Procurement Director. The role will support the execution of both day-to-day operational supply chain activities and the wider strategic procurement objectives across the BRUSH Switchgear businesses. The position will ensure alignment between site operational requirements and procurement strategy, including supplier management, cost reduction, supply chain risk mitigation, inventory optimisation, supplier performance, and standardisation initiatives across the business.

Working closely with Operations, Services, Engineering, Quality, and Finance, the role will drive operational delivery while supporting long-term procurement transformation, supplier development, and business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all the buyers to source the right products, materials, and services.
  • Closely monitor demand and continuously manage the supply chain performance.
  • Manage supplier manufacturing cycles on track and delivery on time.
  • Manage inventory and implement inventory reduction strategies in collaboration with the operations, sales, and engineering departments.
  • SAGE X3 super user at data mining, supply chain essential KPI controls.
  • Maintain accurate data and manage the system.
  • Analysing the supply chain data, resolving any issues, or implementing alternative plans.
  • Set up and manage a KPI dashboard with workflow management from tendering/sales order demand, engineering BOM accuracy and on-time delivery to cost, clear communication to all stakeholders, internal and external.
  • Secure material availability to protect site delivery plans and customer commitments.
  • Manage supplier risk, performance, and recovery actions to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Establish governance frameworks that balance cost, quality, delivery, and supply resilience.

What we’re looking for:

  • Professional accreditation (CIPS or equivalent) preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to modern procurement practices and continuous development.
  • Demonstrated experience improving gross margin and operational efficiency.
  • Experience in engineered-to-order manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience implementing Lean methodologies and structured CI programmes.
  • Proven success delivering cost, quality, delivery, and risk improvements.
  • Experience in supplier development, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong record of transformation, process improvement, or digitalisation.
  • Experience with ESG and responsible sourcing desirable.
