The role of Finance Manager has been created due to ongoing growth and recent acquisitions within BRUSH Group. This role will act as a strategic partner to the Infrastructure Solutions business unit leadership, playing a key role within the team. The position is key to supporting the Infrastructure Solutions business, spanning a broad range of commercial, financial reporting and governance responsibilities for all activities of the Infrastructure Solutions business unit, directly supporting sales and operations teams. The Finance Manager will have a team of 3 with 2 direct reports.
Working Conditions – Hybrid working typically consisting of 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home. Candidate should be comfortable travelling to other offices across the group as required. 37 contractual hours per week, Monday to Friday with 1pm finish on a Friday. The ideal candidate will be based from our London office; applications from candidates based in Glasgow or Edinburgh are also welcome.
Key Responsibilities- Engage and build relationships with Heads of Departments and non-finance teams
- Provide commercial advice, guidance, challenge and approval for customer proposals
- Structure and governance around commercial and project management processes and project reporting
- Provide financial advice and guidance to senior management
- Regular travel to sites within the UK to support team members and businesses, in particular London, Glasgow and Edinburgh
- Monitor KPIs to identify trends, risks and opportunities, including project performance, productivity, hourly rates and commercial KPIs
- Lead and support the continuing development of the Business Central ERP for finance and operational requirements
- Support ad-hoc projects as required
- Own all financial data, reporting and financial controlling processes
- Run month-end reporting processes and reconciliations
- Coordinate and manage the forecasting process, budgets, quarterly forecasts, weekly and ad hoc reporting
- Oversee short-term forecasting to ensure no surprises in financial results
- Assess Capex investment opportunities and manage spend
- Manage the Infrastructure Solutions unit cash flow and cash flow forecasting to ensure sufficient liquidity; communicate shortfalls to Group Finance
- Develop project cash performance metrics and provide feedback to sales and operations teams
- Team and individual management of staff in accordance with BRUSH policy and procedure
- Lead and develop the finance team with 3 direct reports across different locations and encourage collaboration across all sites
- Assign short, medium and long-term objectives and ensure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities
- Monitor team performance and provide feedback
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Develop and implement robust business and accounting control processes and authority limits
- Ensure company finance policies are communicated across the Infrastructure Solutions group companies and followed
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- CIMA, ACA, ACCA (or equivalent) qualified is essential
- The ability to drive discipline throughout the organisation to consistently improve process, control and reach challenging goals is essential
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build consensus and manage multicultural teams is essential
- Experience within a multi-location/divisional business is essential
- Experience of a consultancy business is essential
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport is essential
- Excellent written and oral skills

- Proven track record with demonstrable results in managing staff, influencing and collaborating with business functions
