Position Summary
Commercial Manager responsible for the commercial requirements of all Scottish projects. The role involves establishing, shaping, and driving the commercial strategy and financial reporting to meet business, project, and functional targets. The incumbent will ensure the ongoing assurance of contract requirements from customers, provide leadership and guidance to the commercial and contract management team, and demonstrate a deep understanding of legislation and contractual conditions governing dispute resolution.
Working Conditions
Remote. 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Base location can be from Aviemore or Glasgow office. Current project locations are primarily across Northeast Scotland, Sutherland, and Caithness. A full UK driver’s licence is essential, along with flexibility to travel to live project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial input for tender negotiations
- Manage and administer contracts
- Oversee supply chain management and administration
- Capture and control costs, including completion of monthly, quarterly, and yearly trading analysis
- Responsible for cash management
- Liaise and negotiate with the customer’s commercial, operations, and project teams
- Establish and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
- Implement commercial procedures and reporting
- Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained
- Manage, guide, and develop commercial personnel
- Provide commercial advice to directors

- BEng in Quantity Surveying (or similar degree)
- Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen
- Well‑developed analytical, oral, and presentation/communication skills
- A creative, strategic and innovative approach to problem‑solving
- Extensive experience drafting effective contractual correspondence
- Demonstrable legal, contractual and construction knowledge and experience
- Confidence and ability to assert influence
- Proven track record in commercial management within the construction sector
