About Us
At the Company, we connect clients with reliable, high-quality plumbing and heating services across the UK. As we continue to grow and secure larger public and private sector contracts, we are looking for an experienced and self-sufficient Bid and Tender Manager to join our team and lead our bidding efforts.
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in preparing and managing bids and tenders—ideally within the plumbing, heating, or broader construction sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire bidding process, from sourcing opportunities to submitting winning proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end bid and tender processes, ensuring high-quality submissions are delivered on time.
- Write compelling, compliant, and tailored bid responses that highlight our capabilities and strengths.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., finance, operations, senior management) to gather required information.
- Analyse tender documentation to fully understand requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Ensure all submissions are formatted, proofread, and aligned with tender specifications.
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously, effectively prioritising workloads and meeting strict deadlines.
- Maintain and update a library of standard responses and supporting documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience writing successful bids for companies in the plumbing, heating, or construction industries.
- Strong understanding of UK public and private sector procurement, including frameworks and contracts.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to create persuasive, professional documents.
- Impeccable attention to detail and strong document formatting skills.
- Capable of working independently, taking full ownership of the bid process with minimal supervision.
- Solid grasp of UK procurement regulations, PQQs, compliance requirements, and scoring systems.
- Ability to grasp and clearly communicate technical service offerings in plumbing and heating.
- Awareness of the commercial implications of bids, with a strategic approach to aligning tender responses with business objectives.
- While independent, able to work effectively with various internal stakeholders to ensure submissions are accurate and comprehensive.
- A track record of winning high-value tenders, particularly in relevant industries.
Please note that since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
