Established in 1876, Bruntons Aerospace, part of Carclo PLC, supply all levels of the Aerospace supply chain, supporting prototype, serial production and spares requirements. Our success is built on delivering to the highest quality standards - on time and right first time.
We are seeking a proactive and organised Health, Safety, Environment and Training Administrator/Coordinator to take ownership of health and safety, environmental compliance, and employee training across the business. This role is responsible for creating a safe, compliant and well-trained workplace by maintaining systems, coordinating improvements, supporting managers, and ensuring employees have the knowledge and competence required to carry out their roles effectively. You will work closely with all departments to promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with legal and company requirements, support environmental objectives, and manage the training system across the site.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Health, Safety & Environment:
- Maintaining and improving HSE systems, procedures and records
- Supporting compliance with HSE legislation, regulations and company requirements
- Carrying out workplace inspections, audits and monitoring activities
- Supporting risk assessments, COSHH and safe systems of work
- Investigating accidents, incidents, near misses and environmental events, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Monitoring HSE performance and reporting trends to management
- Supporting emergency preparedness including fire safety, first aid and evacuation planning
- Managing PPE, safety signage and workplace welfare provisions
- Monitoring waste management and environmental practices
- Identifying opportunities to improve sustainability and reduce environmental impact
- Promoting a positive HSE culture through engagement and communication
- Maintaining the training matrix and ensuring records are accurate and up to date
- Coordinating induction training for new starters
- Working with managers to identify training needs and competency gaps
- Scheduling and coordinating internal and external training
- Monitoring completion of mandatory training and escalating where required
- Maintaining records of qualifications, certifications and competence
- Supporting development of training materials and toolbox talks
- Assisting managers in ensuring employees are trained and competent
- Supporting continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
- Contributing to improvements in safety, compliance and workforce capability
What We’re Looking For:
- Essential:
- Experience in a HSE, training or compliance-related role
- Good understanding of HSE requirements
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Confident communicator able to engage at all levels
- Competent in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently with a hands-on approach
- Strong attention to detail
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Experience within Aerospace, Engineering or Manufacturing
- Environmental knowledge (e.g. ISO 14001)
- Experience maintaining training matrices and competence records
- Internal auditing experience
