About The Role
- You will work closely with the home manager and nurses to promote good practice and provide guidance to new and existing colleagues to support their development.
- Be a positive role model and promote our person‑centred philosophy of care to staff, relatives and visiting professionals in order to maintain a consistently high standard of care and support within the home.
- Oversee the training and administration of drugs by other nursing staff and care staff.
- Ensure that all staff provide care as per care plans that are fully reflective of the person’s current health status.
- Participate in direct care of residents, essential in order to coach and mentor staff in high standards of nursing care across the home.
- Supervise the induction of new staff, be able to give guidance on mentoring for other staff and encourage staff members to further develop as individuals.
- Carry out clinical supervision, mentoring and coaching of senior staff members.
- Initiate new ways of working that fully embrace best practice and encourage excellence to flourish throughout the home and the organisation.
- Be the person in charge of the home when the Home Manager is absent and carry out on‑call duties as agreed with the Home Manager.
- Work in partnership with NHS/Intermediate Care Somerset to provide care, support, assessment and rehabilitation and will be joining the MDT to continue this exceptional service.
About You
- You’ll be an experienced registered nurse and have an active NMC registration.
- Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a complete understanding of the necessity for confidentiality and duty of candour requirements.
- Have a commitment to the development of staff to enable them to be empowered to take responsibility for their actions and deliver excellent customer service.
- Have a passion for enabling older people to live their lives as well as they can regardless of the complexities of their long‑term condition or life‑limiting illness.
