Community Carer (Cheddar) – Brunelcare
Join our community services team and help people remain safely and comfortably in their own homes. This role is based in Cheddar, Somerset, and offers a supportive, rewarding working environment.
Benefits
- £500 welcome bonus paid on completion of your probationary period
- Double pay on bank holidays and an extra £1 per hour on weekends
- 30 minutes pay for every 20 miles travelled plus 45p for every mile
- Company sick pay increasing with length of service
- 30 days of paid annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing to 33 days after 5 years’ service (pro‑rata)
About the Role
- Provide personal care and support in clients’ own homes, including washing, dressing, and food preparation.
- Administer medication in line with a client’s care plan – full training will be provided.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
- Support clients to enjoy life and remain as independent as possible for as long as possible.
- Work within a friendly, passionate office team that is there to help whenever needed.
- Shift patterns include AM and PM shifts.
About You
- A naturally kind, patient, and compassionate person who can put a smile on clients’ faces.
- Excellent time‑keeping skills – clients rely on punctuality and trust that you will complete all tasks.
- Valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle, as travel between clients is required.
- No previous experience or qualifications are required; comprehensive paid training, shadowing, and ongoing support will be provided.

Brunelcare’s Somerset Community team covers Bridgwater, Highbridge, Burnham‑On‑Sea, Cheddar, and surrounding areas. The team is passionate about supporting clients to remain as independent as possible within their own homes.
