We are seeking a skilled and reliable Small Works Fire Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering small scale installation projects, system modifications, and upgrades to fire alarm systems across domestic and commercial properties. This role is suited to an engineer who is confident working independently, managing small-scale projects from start to completion, and maintaining high standards of workmanship and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out small works installations, including extensions and modifications to existing systems.
- Install and commission fire detection and alarm equipment.
- Upgrade and replace system components in line with current standards.
- Identify and rectify minor faults during works.
- Ensure all installations comply with current UK regulations and industry standards (e.g. BS 5839).
- Conduct site surveys and assess required works.
- Complete all relevant documentation, including installation records and commissioning certificates.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and other trades.
- Deliver projects within agreed timeframes and to high standards.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in fire alarm installation and small works.
- Good understanding of fire detection systems and associated equipment.
- Possess strong time management skills.
- Strong with creating and maintaining customer relationships.
- Remain calm under pressure.
- Be a team player and have a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Full UK driving licence.
Knowledge required
- Fire: Advanced, Kentec, Morley, Gent.
- Security: Intruder: Texecom, Galaxy.
- Security CCTV: Hikvision, Hanwha, Dahua.
- Door Access: Paxton, Salto.
Experience & Qualifications
- Strong security knowledge on enterprise systems, large sites and complex systems.
- A minimum of 5 years industry experience.
- Ability to obtain security clearance.
- Full and clean driving license.
