Brunel is partnering with Western Power to recruit experienced UK Line Workers who are ready to relocate to Western Australia. Join Western Power — the organisation powering the transition to renewable energy across one of the world’s largest and most dynamic electricity networks. Through our partnership, Brunel is supporting Western Power in identifying skilled Line Workers across the UK who are ready for a life‑changing move to Australia.

Why Western Australia? Give your family more — more sunshine, space, and time together. Swap the daily rush for weekend barbecues, beaches, and spaces where kids can thrive and explore. Enjoy shorter commutes and strong, welcoming communities where family life comes first, and work fits around it — not the other way around. Build a stable future with a company that invests in your development, offering pathways for progression and long‑term security for you and your loved ones.

Your Role in Action

As a Lineworker, you’ll be responsible for constructing and maintaining Western Power’s transmission and distribution networks, responding quickly to faults to minimise disruptions, and ensuring quality, safety, and reliability across the grid. Your responsibilities include:

  • Attend and rectify faults to restore supply quickly.
  • Complete construction and maintenance to Western Power standards.
  • Participate in pre‑job planning to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships while representing Western Power in the field.

You’ll work a 37.5‑hour week (Monday to Friday) — giving you the balance to enjoy life outside of work, with overtime opportunities available for those who want to earn more.

What You’ll Bring

  • Recognised UK Lineworker Trade Qualification — such as a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering (Distribution and Transmission), City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Competency in live line work, fault finding, and network restoration.
  • Full UK Driving Licence, with the ability to convert to a Western Australia ‘HR’ Class Licence upon relocation.
  • Switching experience (HOU/LOU or equivalent) highly regarded, demonstrating your ability to operate safely within live network environments.

Earning Potential

Earn up to $180,000 AUD + per year (excluding availability allowance). That’s before overtime or call‑outs — which can boost your income by another $20,000–$40,000+ annually, depending on your roster and appetite for overtime.

What’s in It for You

  • $15,000 relocation support + visa costs covered
  • Site allowance: $2.50 per hour
  • Availability allowance: Up to $82.57/day (Mon–Thu), $165.13/day (Fri–Sun), $330.24/day (major holidays)
  • Remote living allowance: Up to $150/week
  • Remote housing allowance: Up to $360/week
  • High‑voltage or EHV work (were qualified): $57.41/day
  • Electrical licence allowance: $52/week
  • Meal & travel allowances: ATO rates (updated yearly)
  • Overtime meal allowance: $37.65 per meal
  • Extra leave: Buy up to 4 additional weeks per year
  • Regional benefits: Extra leave and loadings for eligible depots

After 12 months of continuous service, you may also be eligible for support towards permanent residency (PR) costs, helping you make Australia your long‑term home.

We’re recruiting for regional depots across Western Australia, offering a genuine country lifestyle with strong local communities. Opportunities are available in locations such as, but not limited to:
