The technical services team has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Technical Manager for the Medical School to lead its complete technical service. The school boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including simulated hospital wards, clinical skills training rooms, communication suites and an anatomy suite.
As the Technical Manager for the School, you will play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and overseeing all its technical facilities and operations. Your primary objective will be to ensure that all staff, students, and visitors have an exceptional experience, while ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of all activities within your domain.
ResponsibilitiesThis position is ideal for an experienced technician with knowledge of supporting clinical teaching activities (including clinical simulation), who is looking to take on more responsibilities. The successful candidate will be able to clearly demonstrate:
- Experience of leadership and management.
- Familiarity with a wide range of equipment used in medicine and health professional education settings, including troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Experience and knowledge of clinical simulation.
- An excellent working knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements, such as health and safety, procurement, and environmental considerations and the Human Tissue Act (HTA).
- Experience in managing relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers.
- A commitment to the continued professional development of oneself and others.
- The necessary requirements to live and work in the UK.
