This position focuses on advanced solidification and alloy performance improvement for recycling aluminum alloys. The role involves using advanced solidification technologies to address impurity challenges and enhance the performance of recycled aluminum alloys. The post holder will develop methods to control solidification, refine the microstructure, and mitigate impurity effects to ensure high‑quality recycled alloys suitable for industrial applications.

Responsibilities

  • PhD degree in Metallurgy, Metal Materials, or related field.

  • Salary: Grade R1, £40,757 – £44,179 inclusive of London Weighting, with potential to progress to £52,067 through sustained exceptional contribution.
