We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support ongoing research activities within our team. The successful candidate will work under the guidance and mentorship of senior researchers and will perform research necessary to fulfil the objectives of the project: Identification of therapeutic targets in MNX1-rearranged infant Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, externally sponsored by CCLG / Little Princess Trusts.

Salary: Grade R1: £34,132 per annum plus £2,508 London Weighting

We are seeking a candidate with a BSc or MSc/MRes/MPhil degree or equivalent in disciplines such as Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacology, or Genetics. Experience with pluripotent stem cell or primary cancer cell culture, organoid systems, next-generation sequencing analysis, and FACS is desirable.
The role involves combining 2D and 3D cell culture systems, gastruloids development, drug screening, and sequencing with patient sample analysis to identify pathways in infant leukaemia driven by the MNX1 oncogene (see doi:10.1038/s41389-022-00426-2 and doi:10.1042/BSR20220489).
The candidate will contribute ideas, support postgraduate students, maintain records, and assist with report and presentation preparations. They will also participate in laboratory upkeep and demonstrate good scientific citizenship. Some experience in scientific writing and communication with diverse audiences is desirable.
