The Role

As a Project Manager, you will define, plan, manage and deliver a diverse range of complex projects across the University. Working closely with multiple directorates and stakeholders, you will ensure projects are resourced appropriately, governance is upheld, risks are managed, and agreed benefits and outcomes are achieved.

You will foster a culture of collaboration and trust, enhancing the reputation of professional services as a valued partner in delivering change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple large and complex projects, ensuring governance, scope, budgets, resources, risks, and benefits are effectively managed.
  • Engage and manage a wide range of stakeholders, tailoring communications and involvement to project needs.
  • Work collaboratively with Communications and Business Change teams to design and deliver effective project communication plans.
  • Monitor progress and report to formal and informal boards in line with University standards.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in resources, processes, and stakeholder engagement to improve project outcomes.
  • Support and, where necessary, challenge senior stakeholders in their understanding of project practices.
  • Promote high standards in project delivery and contribute to the improvement of portfolio, programme and project toolkits.

About You

You will have:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience, ideally with project management certification (PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in delivering multiple, large-scale projects in a complex environment.
  • Strong skills in risk, issue, stakeholder, and resource management, financial control, and change management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across senior leadership, technical teams, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of a range of project delivery methodologies and tools.
