An exciting opportunity is available for a highly motivated graduate or postgraduate to lead a strategic Knowledge Transfer Partnership between Brunel University of London and Rollagranola. This project focuses on reducing energy consumption, improving product quality, and developing innovative, sustainable, and cost-efficient baking processes within a rapidly growing food business.

- Location: Unit 1 Works Road, Letchworth, Herts, UK
- Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 per annum + £4,000 training budget
- Contract: Full-time, fixed term (26 months)
Main Responsibilities
- Managing a strategic, high-value project from concept through to implementation
- Translating academic expertise into commercially viable solutions
- Driving innovation in baking processes and energy efficiency
- Engaging with stakeholders across both organisations, including production teams and senior management
- Reporting progress, presenting findings, and supporting strategic decision-making
The role also offers valuable commercial exposure through engagement with clients and suppliers, as well as participation in international industry events and conferences.
Candidate Profile
- A First-Class or 2:1 Honours degree, MSc, or PhD in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong technical knowledge in Food science, Food processing, Engineering, Technology.
- Experience in experimental design and data analysis
- Ability to develop optimisation models (e.g., using ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar tools)
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- Industrial experience in food manufacturing and operations
- Knowledge of cereal processing and sustainability
