The Department of Business Analytics and Marketing offers three BSc programmes (Business & Management, Digital Business Analytics, and Marketing), eight MSc programmes including MSc Marketing and Consumer Analytics, MSc Business Intelligence and Digital Marketing, MSc AI Strategy, and MSc AI for Brand Management, alongside MBA and PhD pathways. Research is organised across three groups: Digital Strategy, Social Analytics and Business Intelligence; Marketing & Brand Futures; and Sustainable Operations and Circular Economy.

Description of the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Marketing Analytics or a closely related area (e.g., Digital Marketing or Consumer Analytics) to support the strategic development of Marketing Analytics provision within the Department. We are recruiting for either Teaching & Research or Academic Education contract types and will appoint to one post; applicants are welcome to indicate their preferred contract in their application.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in marketing analytics, consumer analytics, programming for marketing, and AI for brand management, including module design and delivery, student supervision, assessment, and the development of new analytically focused provision.

A key expectation is hands‑on experience of programming languages and analytical tools — such as Python, R, or SQL — and the ability to use these effectively in the classroom and to integrate them into applied learning.

For the Teaching & Research contract, the postholder will maintain an internationally recognised research programme, producing high‑quality outputs in line with REF expectations and demonstrating sustained contribution to the field. They will be expected to secure, and where appropriate lead, external research funding, and to apply computational and analytical methods in their empirical work.

A key aspect of the role is developing external partnerships with industry, government, and third‑sector organisations to support research collaboration, knowledge exchange, and student opportunities such as placements and applied learning.

The role includes contributing to departmental leadership commensurate with seniority, encompassing programme or module leadership, mentoring colleagues, and involvement in strategic initiatives supporting the growth of Marketing Analytics provision.

The successful candidate will also contribute to broader academic life, including administrative responsibilities, quality assurance, and activities supporting student experience and engagement.

We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in marketing analytics, digital marketing, consumer analytics, or closely related quantitative disciplines — particularly those with demonstrable experience of programming and analytical tools in both teaching and research contexts.

We offer a generous annual leave package plus discretionary University closure days, excellent training and development opportunities, an occupational pension scheme, and a range of health‑related support. The University is committed to a hybrid working approach.

How to apply

Closing date for applications: 12th June 2026 (23:59). Interviews will take place on the w/c on the 29th June 2026 in person (or virtually if required). For further details about the post including the Job Description and Person Specification and to apply please visit the university's careers page.
