Brunel Medical School first opened its doors to students in September 2022. The MBBS programme features early patient clinical contact, Team-Based Learning (TBL) and programmatic assessment, with digital technologies and equality, diversity and inclusion embedded across all aspects of the student experience.

We are recruiting a Senior Clinical Lecturer on a permanent basis to serve as Academic Primary Care Lead for Year 3 (Phase 2) for a 5-year duration, with potential to extend. The postholder will also lead Professionalism across the 5-year MBBS programme.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deliver, manage and enhance Year 3 undergraduate medical education in the primary care setting and related teaching within the medical school.
  • Participate in teaching innovations such as TBL, the House Tutor system, Multiple Mini Interviews and OSCEs.
  • Contribute to the ongoing General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation process.
  • Collaborate with the Primary Care team led by the Academic Head of Primary Care and assume rotating leadership tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Senior clinician, GMC registered, licensed to practice as a GP.
  • Experience in educational leadership and a demonstrable track record of high-quality undergraduate medical education, preferably in a university-affiliated role.
  • Experience in primary care undergraduate teaching with a wide range of educational methods and skills.
  • Desired skills include expertise in Team-Based Learning, OSCE, MMI, and educational programme development.
