We have an exciting opportunity within the CHMLS Services Team for a highly motivated Principal Technical Manager to lead the technical operations of the medical school.
Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus
Salary (Grade 8): £44,240 to £56,903 inclusive of London Weighting with the potential to progress to £63,709 per annum inclusive of London Weighting
Hours: Full-time

The College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (CHMLS) is a renowned provider of clinical and life science-based education. Our diverse range of courses includes Medicine, Physician Associate, Biological Sciences, Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences, Psychology, Physiotherapy, and Nursing.
We are proud of the recent launch of our new Medical School, which welcomed its first cohort in September 2023, and now also covers our Physician Associate course which moved into the School in August. The Medical School boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including simulated hospital wards, clinical skills training rooms, a large anatomy suite, communication skills training rooms / OSCE rooms, and dedicated team-based learning facilities. We have exciting plans for further significant investments and growth in the coming years.
This position is ideal for an experienced technical expert with the following qualifications and attributes:
- A proven track record of high-quality leadership and management.
- Familiarity with a wide range of equipment used in a medical education setting, including troubleshooting and minor repairs.
- Experience and knowledge of clinical simulation.
- An excellent working knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements, such as health and safety, procurement, and the Human Tissue Act.
- Experience in managing relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers.
- Proficiency in managing projects of varying sizes.
- A commitment to the continued professional development of oneself and others.
- Comfort and willingness to work with human plastinated specimens and potentially cadaveric specimens in the future.
- Already possessing the necessary requirements to live and work in the UK.
