Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade 7 from: £39,607 to £46,771 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £50,858 per annum inclusive of London Weighting.

Hours: Full-time (35 Hours)

Contract Type: Permanent

A vacancy has arisen for a Network Engineer in the Directorate of Information Services. This role is pivotal for the organisation and will play a key part in providing Network and associated systems delivery to the University.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

  • Working within a large site/multi-site environment previously which is predominantly CISCO focused
  • Have a strong background in routing/switching/firewall configuration.
  • Have professional experience working as a Network Engineer.
  • Have a good understanding of configuration management and network architecture.
  • Have experience monitoring networks and evaluating network health and performance.
  • Have great customer service skills.
  • The role requires good attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to work both alone and as part of a team. You will require excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with a can-do attitude. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent industry experience. A demonstration of continued professional development in a relevant field would be advantageous.

    You will also have great people skills with strong communication, influencing and negotiating skills. The ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential.
