We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Marketing Analytics or a closely related area (e.g., Digital Marketing or Consumer Analytics) to support the strategic development of Marketing Analytics provision within the Department. We are recruiting for either Teaching & Research or Academic Education contract types and will appoint to one post; applicants are welcome to indicate their preferred contract in their application.

Salary: Grade 10 (Senior Lecturer) from 1 July 2026: £64,267 to £69,976 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £74,075 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, through sustained exceptional contribution (pro‑rata if part‑time).

The Department of Business Analytics and Marketing offers three BSc programmes (Business & Management, Digital Business Analytics, and Marketing), eight MSc programmes including MSc Marketing and Consumer Analytics, MSc Business Intelligence and Digital Marketing, MSc AI Strategy, and MSc AI for Brand Management, alongside MBA and PhD pathways. Research is organised across three groups: Digital Strategy, Social Analytics and Business Intelligence; Marketing & Brand Futures; and Sustainable Operations and Circular Economy.
Description of the Role: The successful candidate will contribute to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in marketing analytics, consumer analytics, programming for marketing, and AI for brand management, including module design and delivery, student supervision, assessment, and the development of new analytically focused provision. A key expectation is hands‑on experience of programming languages and analytical tools — such as Python, R, or SQL — and the ability to use these effectively in the classroom and to integrate them into applied learning.
For the Teaching & Research contract, the postholder will maintain an internationally recognised research programme, producing high‑quality outputs in line with REF expectations and demonstrating sustained contribution to the field. They will be expected to secure, and where appropriate lead, external research funding, and to apply computational and analytical methods in their empirical work.
A key aspect of the role is developing external partnerships with industry, government, and third‑sector organisations to support research collaboration, knowledge exchange, and student opportunities such as placements and applied learning. The role includes contributing to departmental leadership commensurate with seniority, encompassing programme or module leadership, mentoring colleagues, and involvement in strategic initiatives supporting the growth of Marketing Analytics provision.
The successful candidate will also contribute to broader academic life, including administrative responsibilities, quality assurance, and activities supporting student experience and engagement.
