Overview
The Directorate of Commercial Services is seeking to appoint a Conference Coordinator Officer within the Conference Department. Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus. Salary: Grade 6 from £34,145 to £35,990 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £38,638 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, through sustained exceptional contribution. Hours: Full-time at 35 hours per week. Contract Type: Permanent. The Conference Services department operates under the Facilities and Commercial Services directorate.
Note: This role involves selling, planning and organising all aspects of internal and external events and working with university departments such as Chartwells (caterers), Residences and Sport.
Responsibilities
- Selling, planning and organising all aspects of internal and external event bookings.
- Working closely with other departments within the University such as Chartwells (caterers), Residences and Sport.
- Managing existing and new client budgets and raising invoices.
- Promoting, planning and organising all aspects of the summer conference business, including residential Language Schools at Brunel University London.
Qualifications and requirements
- Previous experience in event management and coordination or similar.
- Strong general education qualification or proven experience in an office environment delivering high quality customer service.
- Computer literacy and good database experience; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of self-motivation and ability to deliver excellent customer service with a professional demeanour for client-facing work.
- Ability to meet or exceed targets and to work within service level agreements and departmental policies and procedures.
