Salary: Grade G8 from: £45,390 to £58,263 inclusive of London Weightingwith potential to progress to £65,236per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution. (Pro-rata if Part-time)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a qualified Law Librarian who will engage academic colleagues and students with your provision of information literacy training and specialist reference and research support. You will also support the Library’s collection development and management goals by providing expert advice on information resources and you will advocate for the needs of your academic colleagues to the Library Leadership Team

Specifically, you will:

  • Support specified courses and programmes of study within the College of Arts, Law and Social Sciences (CALSS) with a focus on Brunel Law School:
  • Plan and deliver Information Literacy and Digital Skills sessions
  • Support Brunel’s research activity and participate in relevant committees
  • Establish constructive working relationships with programme teams
  • Promote access to resources, collections and services through effective academic liaison and information dissemination

In addition to these, you will assist in the provision of academic enquiry services, develop learning materials and teaching sessions in a blended learning environment. You will also be responsible for selecting and managing the print and online resource portfolio relevant to the various Brunel Law School disciplines, working closely with other Library teams.

Academic Liaison Librarians also have a functional cross-team role which contributes to the overall operation of the Library and ASK Services.

Your profile

With a postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Management or equivalent, you will have demonstrable experience of working in a library and customer-focused environment. Experience of academic liaison work, and relevant subject experience in Law is essential.

You will be an effective communicator with the confidence to deliver library teaching in person and online as well as forge effective working relationships with academic and non-academic staff at all levels. Excellent IT skills are required along with a flexible approach to work and attention to details.
