Main Purpose of the Job:

  • Plan and deliver personalised curriculum packages and accreditation pathways for pupils within the context of EHCP outcomes, while maintaining assessment and progress data for learners.
  • Deliver knowledge‑based, targeted provision that reflects the needs of pupils as outlined in their Education Health and Care plans.
  • Provide in‑school teaching and intervention for pupils with anxiety‑related learning barriers and SEN, including Autism and Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) conditions.
  • Collaborate with families, external professionals and other support networks.
  • Deliver quality SEN teaching to secondary school‑age pupils across a range of subjects, including remote and non‑classroom environments.
  • Develop and support personalised strategies to reduce anxiety, build confidence and meet individual pupil needs.
  • Where applicable, offer outreach support in alternative settings within the Trust to help pupils access education in a safe and manageable way.
  • Arrange pastoral care and personal development for pupils, establishing working relationships with parents or carers.
  • Support effective partnerships with service providers and work proactively with multi‑agency teams.
  • Co‑ordinate the work of HLTA’s and Teaching Assistants, managing pupils’ individual needs to enable access to learning.
  • Follow the Trust’s Teaching and Learning, Curriculum Policies and Non‑negotiables.
  • Support and adhere to all Trust policies and procedures.
  • Fulfil duties required to meet Teachers’ Standards.
  • Have a clear understanding of Safeguarding and the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance, assume responsibility for safeguarding, and report concerns in accordance with Trust and School Safeguarding Policies.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of EHCP outcomes and SEN provision.
  • Experience in delivering targeted provision for pupils with anxiety, SEN, Autism, or SEMH.
  • Understanding of safeguarding requirements and the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
  • Preferred: experience in teaching Humanities and/or Social Studies.
