Brunel University London is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology to join our growing Department of Psychology. This role focuses on developing new clinically oriented provision, including an MSc in Clinical Psychology, and will involve teaching and research in clinical psychology and mental health.

Salary & Hours

  • Salary: Grade 8 from £45,390 to £58,263 inclusive of London Weighting, with potential to progress to £65,236 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution. (Pro‑rata if part‑time)
  • Hours: Full‑time or part‑time.
  • Contract: Permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including areas of psychological disorders, assessment, formulation, and evidence‑informed interventions.
  • Deliver engaging teaching, supervise student research, and contribute to curriculum development and assessment.
  • Apply clinical or counselling experience to enrich teaching and develop clinically relevant provision, including psychological assessment, case formulation, and delivery of evidence‑based interventions.
  • Develop an active research profile in clinical psychology or a related mental health area, producing high‑quality publications, engaging in collaborative research, and pursuing appropriate funding opportunities.
  • Maintain an active clinical role alongside the academic position if desired; flexible arrangements (including part‑time appointments) may be considered.

Qualifications

  • Experience in clinical or counselling practice (current or past) that can be integrated into teaching and research.
  • Strong research record in clinical psychology or related mental health fields.
  • Strong interest in developing clinically relevant provision and contributing to student learning.
